Description de la mission

EDF Renewables is seeking for its the Industry Division a

Onshore EPC Contract Manager (M/F)

Reporting to the Deputy Vice President of the PMO, you will undertake will undertake the responsibilities, tasks and duties listed below:

In the development phase of a project:

  • From the contractual scheme definition phase to the negotiation of industrial contracts (EPC, supply of main equipment contract) coordinate the activity of the various players acting around the contract (project manager, procurement, legal, engineering...);
  • Draft all contractual documents in coordination with procurement, engineering, legal, insurance, finance...;
  • Define with the Procurement division the requirements for Request for Proposals and their content in accordance with the applicable rules (European Directive 2014/25 for example) and the project environment requirements;
  • Define the evaluation criteria on the basis of proposals and recommendations issued by lawyers, engineering and industrial procurement and evaluate the offers from suppliers;
  • Finalize templates of contracts and annexes, with the support of lawyers and procurement;
  • Supervise the preparation of all other documents (technical specifications, bonds, guarantees, etc.) necessary for the contracting process;
  • Manage contractual exchanges with suppliers and maintain a status update of their progress;
  • Lead contractual negotiations with suppliers until the contract is signed;
  • Carry out internal project reporting.

In the construction phase of a project:

  • Be instrumental in fostering a pro-active Health and Safety culture with the main contractors, subcontractors and suppliers;
  • Set up a contract monitoring plan and validate the milestones associated with the payment terms;
  • Prepare and lead the contract Kick-off meeting with the contractor (define the rules of communication and train the project team, etc.);
  • Analyze contractual gaps and negotiate them;
  • Investigate claims from contractors and prepare answers;
  • Prepare claims to be sent to the contractors;
  • Draft and validate incoming and outgoing correspondence related to the execution of the contract;
  • Participate in the development of IT solutions in support of the business lines.

You will also:

  • Participate to due dill process for the acquisition of projects. He/She will participate in estimating the contractual coverage of the project and assessing its value;
  • Ensure a consistent contractual approach on the projects of the portfolio, in alignment of the good practices, Policies and guidelines of the Industry Division;
  • Provide regular update on his / her contracts to the management and to the governance bodies in place;
  • Participate to project reviews, peer reviews, technical rescue missions to support projects of his/her perimeter;
  • Support and assist project teams of the Group on contract management matters, processes, tools and methods;
  • Will contribute to the animation of the contract management community of EDF Renewables.

Profil souhaité

The successful candidate should have a Master's degree in Law, Engineering, Business management or equivalent and minimum 5 years of experience in a contract management position within IPP projects. A proven successful previous International experience is a must.

Added to that you have a significant and relevant experience in Renewable Energy Projects with emphasis on the upstream phase (competitive bidding, contracting, pre-construction) and the downstream phase (project construction and delivery monitoring, claim management, support to construction project teams) to be part of the technical  team (engineering, procurement and construction) and take the Contract Management position for various international onshore projects.

 

COMPETENCIES

  • Contract Management: expert in negotiation and execution of contracts. Understands interactions between contract and project management.
  • Familiar with the contractual schemes and frameworks used in the Sector; incl. PPA, EPC, O&M, MSA/TSIA, BoS/BoP, ...
  • Project Management: understands the application of all related Knowledge Areas (scope, cost, time, quality, HSE, risk, communications, etc), able to coordinate several workstreams running in parallel.
  • Technical Management: understands common fields of engineering (civil, electrical) in the renewables Sector.
  • Experience in management of multi split construction contracts.
  • Extended IT knowledge: M365, project management and scheduling tools.
     

HARD SKILLS

  • Fluent English communication (oral and written)
  • French as a second language is a plus
  • Chinese/Hindi/Arabic/Spanish or other languages is a nice to have
